Six Practices for Spiritual Growth A Fifth Collection of 26 Blogs on How the Spirit Works in Your Life and Church is a free eBook from David S. Luecke.

This fifth collection of Dr. David Luecke’s emphasizes how fruitful churches today emphasize change, and how their “product” is helping believers grow closer to God and enjoy more of the love, joy, and peace of the abundant life Jesus came to offer. Such growth can be envisioned as a Spiritual journey of being drawn closer to God. This movement is the work of the Holy Spirit, and our job is to put ourselves in the Spirit’s workshop. That can happen by engaging in six GROWTH practices presented in this book of short essays.

What Happened to Our Churches? is a free eBook from David S. Luecke.

Dr. David Luecke’s book addresses how declining mainline churches can regain Spiritual energy and grow again. The only way for a Christian congregation, which is biblically a fellowship of the Holy Spirit, to increase its energy (the time, talents and treasure of its participants) is to pay more attention to how the Spirit calls, gathers, enlightens and sanctifies its participants. This book of short conversation-starter blogs addresses why and how to do that.

Why and How American Church Life is Changing So Rapidly Now is nine short essays for starting discussions and includes devotional scriptures and lead questions.

After 30 years of ministry, I have a good understanding of what works and what doesn’t in congregational ministry. I am convinced that we, in traditional churches, need to fine-tune our church cultures and the methods through which we express our beliefs and to do so in the direction of greater willingness to share our personal Spiritual experiences.  If you don’t have spiritual experiences in church, why bother going? The outcome I seek is that those who participate in these discussions will learn better to Name their encounters with the Holy Spirit, to share those stories with others, to Seek more such fulfilling Spiritual experiences, and thereby to Reach more unchurched. This is a free eBook from David S. Luecke.

How to Spot the Spirit’s Work in Your Life

Believers who raise their awareness of the Holy Spirit, practice GROWTH in the Spirit, and share their experiences, will find their Christian life becomes more exciting and fulfilling.

Pastors who teach Spirit awareness and GROWTH practices will see their congregation become more stimulating, healthy, and attractive.

Your Encounters with the Holy Spirit

Name and Share Them – Seek More I think of the Holy Spirit as a dove from Jesus’ baptism whispering godly thoughts into my ear. The Holy Spirit is God’s wind in our lives today. he can bring excitement to believers on their journey to becoming more like Christ. I will try to make the best case for how we Word-oriented believers can learn to thrive in the Spirit and then share these ways with others. What I offer, in my view, does not contradict anything in classical Reformation theology.

How the Spirit Shapes Prayer

After a major church planting disappointment followed by a serious illness, I had a series of deep prayer experiences with God that awakened me to a new relationship. I became curious about personal prayer experiences of ordinary churchgoers and did a survey of over 1,000 members in Lutheran congregations. I found much more involvement than expected.
